Lizzy immersed herself in the world of creativity, starting with Classical and Modern Dance at the tender age of 5; by the time she was 7, she delved into Fine Art and Visual Arts, setting the foundation for her artistic journey.
In 2016 and 2019, Lizzy refined her DJing and music production skills at THE FOX GROVE in New York City, an Electronic Music and DJ School in the heart of New York City. Her musical evolution spans genres, showcasing a fusion of ORGANIC HOUSE, AFRO HOUSE with MELODY TECHO. Infused with strong positive spiritual intentions, Lizzy's sound weaves emotional textures with deep and percussive grooves, creating a transformative experience on the dance floor; a journey she calls "A story of transformation, a dance with the universe; a voice echoing nothing but Good Vibes Only ♡ ."
Since 2016, Lizzy has graced iconic music venues and clubs worldwide, leaving her mark on the global music scene. Her DJ prowess has been acknowledged in renowned places such as BoillerRoom in Chicago, Make Believe in New York, HOV in Mexico City, Ulu Cliffhouse in Bali, Cafe del Mar in Thailand, Soho House in Hong Kong, Agave Lounge in Burning Man and more.
In May 2019, Lizzy released "YÈ SHANGHAI," a tribute to her Chinese roots and cosmopolitan cities that never sleep. The vocal version sampled from the original song lyrics of "Night Shanghai by Tsai Chin," a personal favorite dance track of her parents. The release party took place at the iconic Techno Club '44KW' in Shanghai, with an EP release in South Korea at Seoul Community Radio x Boiller Room LIVE show.
Her contributions to the music scene have not gone unnoticed. Lizzy Yao has been consistently recognized as a TOP 20 female DJ from Asia by DJane Mag. Supported by global brands and local creative communities, she has partnered with names like Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Belvedere, Hennessy, Johnnie Walker, Seoul Community Radio, Yeti Out, and Agave Lounge.
During the pandemic, Lizzy embraced challenges, continual her music and spiritual journey and finding her purpose in sound healing. Each set she crafts resonates with audiences through clear intention and frequency.
